Make sure you get the perfect day you’ve always wanted
We think your wedding should be one of the best days of your life. No matter how much, or how little, time and money you have, the best way to make sure everything works out perfectly is to make a plan.
Here are a few tips to make sure you get the perfect day you’ve always wanted.
1. Work out your budget
Research shows that the average cost of a wedding in the UK is now £20,000.* Of course, you don’t have to spend that much to have a fantastic wedding. But even if you don’t, you’re still likely to buy the most expensive dress, outfits, or meal you’ll ever buy.
Whether you’re just starting to make plans, or you’re well underway, our wedding budget planner will help you organise your finances. That way, you’ll always know how much you’ve spent so far… and whether you can afford to be tempted by all the lovely little wedding touches you see!
The planner will also help you remember everything you need to arrange.
2. Decide when you’d like to get married and set a date
Chances are that you already have an idea what time of year you want to get married; whether you want a church wedding or not; whether you’d like to get married abroad; and who you’d like to invite. Sketch out a list of these with your partner so you know that you both have the same ideas.
It’s best to make fixing the date and venue the first things you do. Depending on how popular your chosen venue for the ceremony and reception, and how far in advance you book, you might find you need to be a little flexible about the date!
Any church or venue will be able to tell you what dates and times they have free. Make sure you always speak to the person who looks after wedding bookings.
3. Wedding insurance gives you peace of mind
Because Ecclesiastical wedding insurance is so comprehensive, it starts to give cover as soon as you set a date, and begin making bookings or start paying deposits.
With your Ecclesiastical wedding insurance in place, you’ll be able to enjoy making the rest of your plans with the peace of mind of knowing that you’re backed by great insurance in case the unexpected happens.
You can buy our wedding insurance up to two years before your wedding.
4. Now you can get on with the fun part
Every wedding is different – that’s what makes them so special (and why we let you mix and match your wedding insurance). It’s your chance to celebrate with friends and family however you want.
Here’s a brief list of some of the things you might want to think about.
